Apple Orders "Central Park" Series By "Bob's Burgers" Creators

The new network gave a commitment for two seasons, with a total of 26 episodes.

Central Park marks the first foray into streaming for 20th TV's animation department, and the first animated series optioned by Apple TV.

Apple describes it as a "musical comedy" and it is created by Bouchard and 20 Century Fox Television, where the creator is under an overall deal.

Bouchard, Smith, and Gad penned the project, and Bouchard and Gad will executive produce with Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

The series was originally planned to join the roster of great animated series on FOX, but after FOX passed, a bidding war followed with Netflix, Hulu and Apple.

Other content Apple has been adding to its plans include Are You Sleeping?, a series starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, a futuristic drama called See from Steven Knight, and a remake of Spielberg's Amazing Stories.
