Mahrez regrets reaction to failed Man City move

RIYAD MAHREZ has refused to rule out another traumatic transfer window this summer - after confessing signing for Manchester City would have been a dream move for him.

Mahrez did not attend Leicester City's training sessions for a couple of days to force the club to complete the deal but he eventually returned on a train with his teammates after a week.

'I was away from here because I needed some time to think, ' Mahrez told Sky Sports News.

The Algerian is believed to be angry with the Leicester City chiefs for not allowing him to move on and he is hoping to leave at the end of the season. It is behind me.

'Like I said, it's the past, I really don't want to talk about this because it's behind me, if I start taking about this its coming back to the transfer window and now I'm moving forward, trying to do my best for the team'.

"I want to thank everybody for the kindness and support they have shown me in this incredible city, you will be always in my heart".

"It was hard, I've always been in contact with the club".

"To be honest the club handled it very good as well".

"We always talk between me and the club".

On Saturday, Mahrez scored a superb free-kick deep into stoppage time to earn Leicester a 1-1 home draw with Bournemouth.

It's unclear who Mahrez will play for next season, but at least we know he will not be hanging up his boots despite a social media scare earlier this week.

"In football players come, players leave".

"I heard some people saying I hadn't been talking to the club but I was always talking to the club". We will see in the summer if some things comes. "My mind, focus is on Leicester, that's all I'm focused on. We had some discussions and we moved on".

"It was hard but I spoke with the players, I spoke with the manager, I spoke with everyone". It won't affect me, so I don't know why they try to do that.
