Mohammad Shami charged with domestic violence; FIR lodged by the cricketer's wife

He has been dropped from a list of contracted players unveiled by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Hasin Jahan the wife of star India fast bowler Mohammed Shami, has allegedly accused her husband of torture and having extra-marital affairs. The other charges recorded against him are under Section 307 - attempt to murder, Section 323 - punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 - rape, Section 506 - criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34.

Hasin was responding to Shami's comments questioning her mental stability after she had lodged an official police complaint in Kolkata on Thursday.

She also said, "Whatever I have posted is just the tip of an iceberg". Shami's alleged WhatsApp and Facebook conversations with multiple women, before lodging a complaint with the police at Lalbazar police headquarters.

She also told reporters Friday that there were attempts by the cricketer's family to kill her by forcing her to consume sleeping pills. She further added that she had given time to her to rectify his mistakes, but he would vent his anger on her.
