President Trump Called Roseanne Barr to Congratulate Her on Show

Barr's character on "Roseanne" plays a supporter of the president; in its first return episode, the show grappled with the divide between Trump supporters and defenders of former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Mr. Trump called Ms. Barr to congratulate her on the revival of her comedy, "Roseanne", and to thank her for her support.

Barr said she was thrilled to receive the call from Trump. "I thought that this was an important thing to say at this time". "Matt Drudge tweeted: "'ROSEANNE' RATINGS BLOWOUT".

"I've known him for many years and he's done a lot of nice things for me over the years", she said. It generated impressive ratings, with a 5.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 18.2 million viewers for the entire hour, according to Variety.

She added that the same holds true for "people actually hating other people for the way they voted, which I feel is not American".

The titular star Roseanne Barr also said in recent interviews that she is game to do additional seasons. (The president even called to congratulate her for the great ratings.) "The idea that people can agree to disagree is kind of missing from everything", she said. We can really get our hands dirty and put our big collective shoulders to the wheel and change and fix things.
