Sam Bradford will sign with Cardinals

The Cardinals have turned their attention to Bradford in this year's free-agency after losing out on Kirk Cousins, who plans to sign a three-year $84m deal with the Minnesota Vikings. After stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings, he is headed back to the NFC West and will sign with the Arizona Cardinals, according to multiple sources.

According to ESPN and, the 30-year-old's one-year contract - for which $15m of the $20m is guaranteed - also contains an option for a second season at another $20m, meaning he could ultimately earn $40m through 2019.

The Heisman Trophy victor was drafted by St. Louis with the first overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. There's no guarantee the Cards will have a quarterback sitting there at No. 15 and no guarantee they can make a move up high enough to land a quarterback in the draft.

It's possible Bradford could have come back and started had Keenum struggled, but that wasn't the case and Bradford hit free agency. Keenum agreed to a deal with the Broncos, which he's expected to sign Wednesday. Still available are AJ McCarron, Teddy Bridgewater and Josh McCown, who quarterbacked the Jets last season.
