Five-time World Champion and Indian Boxing legend MC Mary Kom stormed her way into the final of 48kg women's boxing event on Wednesday at the Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast.

The team manager Victor Agbor Nso said Australian police have been notified of the disappearance of weightlifters Arcangeline Fouodji Sonkbou, Petit Minkoumba & Olivier Matam Matam, and boxers Christian Ndzie Tsoye and Simplice Fotsala.

Three weightlifters and two boxers have not been seen since Tuesday, while another three have since gone missing, including boxer Christelle Ndiang, who disappeared after losing her bout to Australian Skye Nicholson on Tuesday.

He also said that all eight athletes prepared in Warwick in central Queensland prior to the Games, but only six of them took part in their respective competitions, while two left without competing.

"Nobody said anything, they did not give any condition, they just left", he said.

"Right now we are anxious about safety and welfare of the athletes and we are taking this very seriously and monitoring the situation with team Cameroon", Mr Grevemberg said.

"I would simply say enjoy Australia while you are here, this includes Cameroon and any other athletes, stay within the law and be mindful of the fact that there is a system in place in this country", he told a news conference on Wednesday.

These athletes are guests here in Australia.

Seven Olympic athletes from Cameroon, including 5 boxers, a swimmer and a reserve women's goalkeeper also went missing during the London 2012 Olympics.

Peter Beattie, chairman of the local organizing committee, said it was not a surprise.

"I don't want to be too blase, but I don't get too excited about this because I know there is a system to deal with it".

The Australian government has warned athletes against overstaying their visas.

Meanwhile, the Commonwealth Games Federation said the missing athletes have not broken any laws at this stage, as their visas are still valid.
