'Dark Souls Remastered' Switch Release Delayed to Summer

'Dark Souls Remastered' Switch Release Delayed to Summer

Weirdly enough, it looks like the rest of the versions of the game will still be releasing on track for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One when they debut on May 25. "We are excited to watch the thriving Dark Souls community grow and support new players experiencing the title for the first time". The Switch version and the Solaire amiibo have unfortunately been bumped from the original May 25th, 2018 release date to a more nebulous "later this summer". The good news is that the extended wait shouldn't be too much longer, as it sounds like the game has only been delayed by a couple of months.

Bandai Namco wasn't more specific about the reasons for the delay, but it is worth noting that the game still hasn't had the announced network test that was supposed to hit the Nintendo eShop "soon" after the game's March 8 announcement.

The Nintendo Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered has been officially delayed to this summer, tweeted the official Dark Souls Twitter account on Tuesday.

PC/PS4/X1 versions will maintain their May 25th release date. That means we can expect to see a release anywhere between late June to September. The game was playable in Switch form at PAX East recently, and even previously rough areas like Blighttown seemed to be running well, so hopefully the delay is as minor as Bandai Namco suggests.
