Former Coast to Coast AM Host Art Bell Dead at Age 72

Several publications report Art Bell died at his Las Vegas home on Friday, April 13th.

The Nye County Sheriff's office confirmed the longtime Pahrump resident's death in a community announcement.

An autopsy is scheduled in coming days to determine the cause of death.

"Coast to Coast AM" confirmed the information on Twitter, saying its employees was "profoundly saddened with the information that the creator and authentic host of Coast to Coast AM, Artwork Bell, has handed away on the age of 72".

Bell's paranormal-themed overnight show, "Coast to Coast AM", was syndicated on hundreds of stations by Premiere back in the 90's.

The present tweeted a remark from its present host, George Noory, who described Bell as "a legend - a radio icon who went in opposition to the grain and developed an incredible present referred to as 'Coast to Coast AM.' His influence on my life is past phrases". He will be missed, but that I know he is now on another trip.

At Bell's peak in the 1990s, his show, "Coast to Coast AM", was on more than 400 radio stations including Fort Wayne's WOWO AM 1190, which still airs the program weeknights from 1 to 5 a.m. Coast to Coast AM then became syndicated across the USA and Canada in the 1990s, eventually through Chancellor Media in the mid-90's before becoming a part of Premiere Radio Networks and Clear Channel Communications in 2001.
