Long NBA playoff run now in store for Celtics?

Celtics guard Terry Rozier hit a huge three to put the Celtics up three with.5 seconds left in the game. On the other hand, Giannis Antetokounmpo had a monster game with a double-double of 35 points and 13 rebounds along with seven assists and three thefts; Middleton followed him with 31 points, eight boards, six dishes, and a couple of steals, while Malcolm Brogdon scored 16 points off the bench.

It was a game of wild momentum swings from the start with the Celtics going on a 15-0 run to end the first quarter, the Bucks starting the second quarter on a 26-4 run for a 10-point lead, and the Bucks rallying from down 10 in the fourth quarter to force OT.

But after a Milwaukee timeout advanced the ball to half court, Middleton matched it with his own 3 over Jaylen Brown as time expired.

Terry Rozier may not be Kyrie Irving (out for the season following left knee surgery) or Marcus Smart (right thumb surgery, may be back for a Game 7 versus the Bucks at the earliest), but it's hard to not recognize that the 6-foot-2 guard is built for these moments.

Game 2 in the best-of-seven series is Tuesday night in Boston.

"I said it, I think in preseason", Jaylen Brown said, "I said Terry, with opportunity, could be one of the best point guards in the league and a lot of you all looked at me like I was insane". The score at the end of regulation would have edged the total the way it is now set by half a point, not to mention the overtime scoring.

James had won 21 first-round playoff games in a row until the rout, having never before lost the opener in a first-round National Basketball Association post-season series.

"He knows what he's doing down there", Antetokounmpo said.

Part of the reason the Bucks were in bad spots is because they were hampered by turnovers. The Cleveland Cavaliers star might have trouble just getting out of the opening round of the playoffs.

Towards the end of the fourth quarter, Boston had a two-point lead until rookie Jayson Tatum made a rookie mistake which resulted in a turnover.

It was 108-106 when Horford snared a rebound and got it ahead to Rozier, who was fouled.

Horford came up big for the Celtics in the closing 56.1 seconds, as he'd go onto hit five free throws, helping the C's maintain their lead down the stretch.

Instead, a third referee overruled the call, tagging Antetokounmpo with his sixth and final foul.

Rozier added three free throws to provide the final margin. But the Celtics also leaned heavily on a pair of veterans up front with Al Horford scoring 24 points with 12 rebounds in 44 minutes, and Morris scoring 21 points with seven rebounds in 35 minutes off the bench. Totals 39-94 24-27 113.

Rozier responds to the Bucks with a made three-pointer, and then Middleton returned the favor to pull back within two with 2:12 on the clock.
