Lorde In Hot Water Over Whitney Houston Bathtub Post

Since Lorde is knee-deep in her Melodrama World Tour, we doubt she was trying to draw up controversy here. Lorde apologized and deleted the post within an hour, New York Daily News reports.

Lorde has issued an apology for a "poorly chosen" reference to the late singer Whitney Houston.

She finished the apology saying, "love Whitney forever and ever.it is not my f. day today".

Lorde posted the photo of the luxurious bathtub on Instagram Thursday, writing, "And iiii will always love you". However, this didn't go well with the followers and they trolled her miserably for this. Houston's life came to an end in 2012 when she accidentally drowned in a bathtub due to a heart disease and cocaine abuse.

Eerily, her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown also died in the bath in mysterious circumstances.

The reactions to this incredible oversight by Lorde ranged from "This is disgusting idk how people find it amusing".

Lorde was quickly taken to task in her comment section, with many calling the post "disgusting" and advising her to delete it immediately.

Lorde is not one for controversy.

The "Royals" singer later took down the post and apologised for being an "idiot" in her choice of words, assuring fans it was completely unintentional.
