Seattle Seahawks cancel workout with Colin Kaepernick

However, the meeting was canceled at the last minute over the constroversial protest. Reid, who remains a free agent, was among the first players to join Kaepernick's protest.

After Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers parted company a little over a year ago, he went unsigned in 2017, following a relatively successful 2016 campaign.

According to TMZ Sports, Seahawks told Kaepernick they couldn't do business unless he promised to discontinue his kneeling protest, to which the displaced QB would not agree to. Seattle said it wouldn't be worth his time and shouldn't bother with the travel and that it's not worth coming if he continued kneeling or doing on-field activism.

The Seattle Seahawks postponed a planned workout with Colin Kaepernick when the free-agent quarterback declined to commit to not kneeling during the national anthem, according to a report from ESPN.'s Ian Rapoport sorta-kinda confirmed Schefter's report, tweeting that Seahawks decision-makers "want Colin Kaepernick to consider how he wants to proceed on everything".

Burma: Reuters journalists to stay in jail
The two journalists were arrested after they were invited to meet police officers for dinner in the north of Yangon. Buddhist villagers attacked some of them with swords and soldiers shot the others dead, the military had said.

There could still be a chance that Kaepernick gets his workout with the Seahawks, however. He has been unable to sign with another National Football League club and has filed a grievance against the National Football League charging collusion. Michael Bennett sat during the national anthem last season, but was traded this offseason to the Eagles.

In his final season with the 49ers, Kaepernick racked up over 2,700 total yards, and 16 passing touchdowns to just four interceptions.

Seattle has room on its roster for a backup quarterback after it cut Trevone Boykin in the wake of domestic violence allegations lodged against him by his longtime girlfriend.

Fast forward more than a year and theories of the league blackballing Kaepernick due to his politics are intertwined with an ongoing collusion lawsuit against the NFL.
