UPSC Civil Services exam 2017 results declared: Hyd's Anudeep Durishetty tops

Anudeep Durishetty, the 28-year-old Hyderabad candidate who topped the Union Public Service Commission examination 2017, spoke to ANI about how challenging the entire journey to crack the examination really was.

Over 990 candidates which has 240 women and 750 men have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various Services.

Reports stated that this was Anudeep's fifth attempt at the exam, even though he had qualified earlier and even found a job with the Indian Revenue Service and Customs & Central Excise in 2013. In 2011, he is an engineering graduate in Electronics and Instrumentation from BITS (Pilani).

Eight of the top 25 candidates are women. Haryana's Sachin Gupta got third rank. About her future plans, Kumari said that 'my first preference will be IAS as I want to stay in my country & serve the people here'.

Nandini KR, Tina Dabi and Ira Singhal had topped the civil services examination 2016, 2015 and 2014, respectively.

The recommended candidates also include 29 Physically Disabled persons (09 Orthopedically Handicapped; 08 Visually Challenged and 12 Hearing Impaired).

Candidates awaiting their final result are requested to check the list of selected candidates that has been uploaded on the official UPSC website.

On a related note, 9, 57,590 candidates applied for the preliminary examination, out of which 4, 56, 625 candidates appeared.

The online registration for Civil Services 2018 exam has ended. The exams were followed by the personality tests, conducted from February.

As Subhankar always wanted to be an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, he again appeared the exam.
