White Sox's Danny Farquhar diagnosed with brain hemorrhage, in critical condition

White Sox relief pitcher Danny Farquhar suffered a ruptured aneurysm that resulted in a brain hemorrhage during the sixth inning of Friday night's game against the Houston Astros, the team announced Saturday.

Many teams around Major League Baseball have been sending the White Sox and Farquhar well wishes in light of his condition.

Chicago has placed Farquhar on the 10-day disabled list and recalled pitcher Gregory Infante from Class AAA Charlotte. White Sox medical staff and emergency medical personnel attended to him before he was taken to the hospital. He regained consciousness shortly after the incident and was taken to RUSH University Medical Center, where he's expected to continue treatment with Dr. Demetrius Lopez in the neurological ICU unit.

White Sox fans, please keep Danny and his family in your positive thoughts and prayers. He was rushed to the hospital, and the team says he is now "stable but in critical condition". Asked if the right-hander required surgery, Renteria said, "We'll see how they proceed and hopefully the outcome is a positive one".
