Adidas Stands by Kanye West, Despite Slavery Remarks

He's palled around with far-right commentators Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk, appearing on TMZ Live this week alongside Owens to allege that slavery "is a choice". "Kanye and Yeezy is a very important part of our brand from a revenue standpoint. It's a very important part of how we promote our products, particularly in the USA and other parts of the world". "I'll combat your free thought with my free thought, because mine is grounded in the reality that I have been given, and the reality that I'm going to change, but I'm not going to do it by pretending that the enemies are on the same team as me".

West's "Gold Digger" collaborator Jamie Foxx weighed in on Ye's recent appearance on "TMZ live" and actually blamed the gossip site for giving him a platform to speak his mind, knowing that he would receive a lot of backlash from it.

Rorsted made his statement Thursday after reporting adidas' first-quarter net profits surpassed Under Armour and Nike. "Stay in Calabasas, you hear me?" Even if you want to "cancel" Kanye and remove his "black card", that's your choice - and we shouldn't accept his ignorant comments about slavery - but attacking and making fun of him does not help.

"Kanye has helped us have a great comeback in the United States", Rorsted said.

In another Trumpian touch, West later took to Twitter to criticize media coverage of his remarks, saying he meant "we can't be mentally imprisoned for another 400 years". He then backpedaled tweeting that he was only talking about mental slavery and that his free thinking should not be criticized. "So, prison is something that unites us as one race".

Porn star sues USA president for defamation
But the Daniels' camp says the contract is null and void because Trump never signed it so she should be allowed to speak. In the suit, Clifford said that Trump made "false and defamatory" statements about her in an April 18 tweet .

West has worked with Adidas on the Yeezy shoe line since 2013, and he added clothing to the mix in 2015. I'm not gonna do that s**t. And the reason why I feel like that is because, Kanye, you're entitled to your opinion. He is not a free thinker.

"Dragon Energy? Hell yea, I want some of that!"

"There clearly are some comments we don't support", Rorsted told Bloomberg News.

Trump - who rose to prominence promoting unfounded conspiracy theories on his predecessor Barack Obama's birthplace - quickly cited West as evidence of rising support among minorities. Owens is also the person who the rapper acknowledged on Twitter last week and said he likes the way she thinks.
