Israel PM says "Trump is making history"

Israel PM says

Scuffles broke out in Jerusalem's Old City Sunday as Israelis celebrated the "reunification" of the city, an annexation not recognized internationally.

US President Donald Trump "was clear and explicit, and he revealed the true face of the modern Crusade, where standing down and appeasement does not work with them, but only resistance through the call and jihad", Zawahiri said, according to a transcript provided by the SITE monitoring agency.

SINGH: Jerusalem Day is an annual celebration.

This year, due to the peculiar nature of the Hebrew calendar - which combines both lunar and solar elements - the Hebrew date of Jerusalem Day fell one day before the Roman date of Israel's 70th anniversary on May 14.

One of President Donald Trump's most contentious foreign policy projects, the inauguration of a US embassy in Jerusalem, is set to be carried out on Monday even as peace in the Middle East seems more elusive than ever.

"If you're not prepared to recognize that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and that's where the American embassy should be, then you're operating on a completely different wavelength". Many sang, danced and waved Israeli flags. Israel is marking the 51tst anniversary of its capture of east Jerusalem in the 1967 Middle East war.

Despite Palestinian outrage over Monday's opening of the United States embassy in Jerusalem, Washington's ambassador to Israel said that there is still hope for peace in the region.

The Palestinians, who claim Israel-annexed east Jerusalem as their capital, are angered by the American move and have virtually cut off ties with the White House.

Trump will not attend Monday's embassy ceremony, but he is expected to address the planned audience of 800 remotely by video.

The Palestinian ambassador to Washington sharply condemned the relocation of the U.S. Embassy in a statement Sunday.

Shadab And Faheem Revive Pakistan In Ireland's Inaugural Test
Duly reprieved, he went to fifty in just 52 balls, including seven fours, with Shadab following him to the landmark in 89 balls. Babar Azam's stay barely lasted and Sarfraz Ahmed , the Pakistan skipper, couldn't make the most of the greenhorn opposition.

Ireland aim for upset on Test debut against Pakistan
William Porterfield has thanked those that have paved the way for him and his Ireland colleagues to make Test history on Friday. There is a lot of experience in our line-up, exciting youth as well so I don't see any reason why not.

Summit with Kim Jong Un will be in Singapore on June 12
Such a move might force the United States to halt the meeting, a presidential spokesman said yesterday. During his surprise visit to North Korea this week, Pyongyang released three USA detainees.

There were already tensions in the weeks before the embassy move. It also has deployed extra forces to the West Bank in case the protests spread.

Ayman Odeh, the head of the Joint List of Arab-dominated parties in the national legislature of Israel, tweeted, "There's nothing festive about transferring the embassy".

The Palestinian Authority's leadership has effectively refused to speak to Trump's team since the move was announced, including his son-in-law Jared Kushner, who is supposed to be spearheading a new drive for peace.

US Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan said at the welcoming ceremony that Trump's decision to relocate the embassy was "essential to creating a roadmap for peace in the region".

First family members and advisers Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are expected to bring some glamour to the dedication. Among them were Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. He also called Trump insane, but he meant it as a compliment. "The reason is simple: For over 3,000 years it has been the capital of our people, and only of our people". And thanks God - he gave us a good insane man. Representing the U.S. at the opening will be Kushner, Ivanka Trump, Sullivan, Mnuchin, and Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt.

Signs thanking Trump for keeping his campaign promise on the Jerusalem embassy could be seen around town.

The prime minister presented Friedman with a framed version of Trump's presidential order announcing the recognition Jerusalem as Israel's capital. In addition, a square near the Jerusalem compound will be named in Trump's honor. Pompeo said he was aware that there could be security concerns for USA embassies and citizens in the region in the coming days.

The United States is in the "late phase", in fact, of finalizing its peace plan that will be presented to both sides in the coming months.
