Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger told the press in his pre-match Leicester City news conference: "Koscielny is devastated because he has had surgery".

The 32-year-old Koscielny, who has earned 51 caps for France, made 25 league appearances for Arsenal this season and was expected to feature in Didier Deschamps' squad at the June-July World Cup in Russian Federation.

As for who follows in Arsene's footsteps, the bookmakers have installed Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri and former Barcelona gaffer Luis Enrique as favourites to be his replacement. Reflecting on the same, Wenger revealed that Koscielny is quite disappointed with the injury as he has to undergo surgery which will not allow him to play before December.
