Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, discussed the U.S. withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear deal on the phone, agreeing that Donald Trump's decision was wrong, a Turkish source said.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was speaking with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani over the phone, said the sources on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.

"It was stressed that the conservation AGREEMENT is crucial to worldwide and regional security and global non-proliferation regime".

According to the source, the Turkish and Russian leaders also expressed concern over the recent escalation of tensions in Syria, as Israel carried out a massive airstrike against Iranian targets in the country early on Thursday. "They reaffirmed Russia's and Turkey's commitment to work together with other parties to the Plan of Action and coordinate their further steps".
