Warriors advance to NBA Finals with Game 7 victory over Rockets

The Warriors will host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 on Thursday night in the fourth straight matchup between the teams.

The Warriors defense woke up in the second half, but Houston failed miserably at its greatest skill when it mattered most: seven-of-44 from three-point range in all, and say hello to your summertime.

Rockets guard Eric Gordon, who scored 23 points, said of the impact of Paul's absence, "It sucks because you know you could win this series if we just had one more playmaker". To add fuel to the fire, the Rockets also set an National Basketball Association record for missing 27-straight 3-pointers at one time too, which arguably was the deciding factor in the game.

When history looks back at this era of the NBA ruled by the Golden State Warriors, it may record the air of inevitability that surrounds this team and their nemesis, the Cleveland Cavaliers, meeting for the fourth year in a row in the NBA Finals.

They're in the finals again anyway, led by someone who will play in the last series of the season for an absurd eighth consecutive year.

James Harden led the Rockets with 32 points but made just 12 of 29 shots from the field.

Their main trouble in the second half, though, came from behind the arc.

Golden State fought for a 101-92 victory in Game 7 Monday at the Toyota Center in Houston.

Judge orders man to move out of parents' house
The Rotondo's even offered their son money to find another place to live and fix his broken auto that sits in front of the home. But that hasn't spurred him to find a new place to live - even though his parents want him to move out and on with his life.

Fourth line leads Golden Knights to thrilling Game 1 win over Capitals
It's a late hit", Marchessault said from the locker room. "I would've thought I had to be in the ring or octagon to hear that". Obviously they got the first goal and the crowd was into it and all, and I didn't like the first part of the second period.

Why Man City Withdrew Interest in Shakhtar Donetsk Midfielder Fred in January
The Reds, like City, also considered Lazio's Sergej Milinković-Savić, but neither club was willing to spend over €100million. With Michael Carrick retiring and Marouane Fellaini leaving, the arrival of Fred signals the start of a new era for United.

Neither heart nor Harden nor game contributions from Clint Capela (20 points and nine rebounds), Eric Gordon (23 points) and P.J. Tucker (14 points and 12 rebounds) were quite enough for a team that, in the very frank words of its general manager Daryl Morey, have always been "obsessed" with toppling the Warriors. Curry was having a subpar game with eight points on 3-of-10 shooting up until his third-quarter explosion.

Green's 3-pointer with 4:56 left in the third quarter gave Cleveland their first lead since the opening minutes at 53-51. But like I told you guys, you guys are around us every day, right before the break and right before the trade deadline I kinda reset. While it only led to nine second-chance points because Houston shot just four of 14 on those chances, it was the kind of effort that demoralizes an opponent.

The Golden State Warriors strike a familiar pose after wrapping up the Western Conference final in seven on Monday night.

In both of those games, the Warriors seized control by dominating the third quarters and going on insane runs. The Rockets built that lead by exposing the one area on the floor they had an advantage over Golden State: the paint.

"I mean, the bigger the stage, the bigger the player, and he's been doing it for us since we've been here", Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said.

At that point, it was just too much ground to make up.

Yet another third-quarter blitz saved the Warriors' season on Monday night, when Golden State won the West and eliminated the Houston Rockets. The Cavaliers turned it around the following season and won their first championship in 2016 beating the Warriors.

The Celtics have seen him do it, after he averaged 33.6 points, 9.0 rebounds and 8.4 assists to eliminate them in the East finals for the second straight year.
