Not to be undone, Trump responded on Twitter saying that both Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "are charging the US massive tariffs and create non-monetary barriers". Trump tweeted early Friday morning ahead of his planned departure from Washington to Quebec.

Trump showed no sign of backing down on Friday, after earlier accusing both France and Canada of imposing massive tariffs on US goods and then accusing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of "being so indignant".

"Totally unfair to our farmers, workers & companies".

Mr Trudeau has described the United States claim that the tariff decision was taken on national security grounds as "insulting".

French President Emmanuel Macron has met the national football team and set a high standard for the players at the World Cup, telling them that "a competition is only a success when you win". To hear the president, poorly conceived trade deals and unfair practices by America's trading partners have widened America's trade deficit with the rest of the world - $566 billion a year ago - and contributed to a loss of millions of factory jobs.

In response to the Trump administration's 25% tariff on steel and 10% on aluminum, Trudeau intends to hit the US with his own 25% steel tariff as well as a 10% tariff on consumer goods from the U.S.

On Friday, Trump floated the idea of negotiating separate bilateral trade pacts with Canada and Mexico.

Mexico to file WTO complaint over USA tariffs: ministry
Industry officials have told Reuters that Mexico could buy pork from Canada tax-free because of NAFTA or the European Union. Trudeau replied he wants to follow through on the consultations while trying to persuade the U.S.to drop the tariffs.

Trump sticks with hard line on trade as showdown looms at G7
A few days ago, Trudeau called the metal tariffs-25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminum-" insulting ". The member countries are: Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Germany, the United States and the Britain.

Microsoft has acquired GitHub
Many corporations, including Microsoft and Alphabet Inc.'s Google , use GitHub to store their corporate code and to collaborate. Despite all those users, Github was not making money, and it probably wasn't long for the world as a independent company.

Merkel has said that it may be "more honest" for the G7 to avoid coming up with a joint statement at the end if it means compromising its principles.

But the European Union official, involved in the preparation of the summit, said the issue was unlikely to be resolved there. The EU also attends as its own entity. Mr Trump's singling out of Germany's auto sector for criticism in his gripes about the USA trade deficit hardly helped matters either.

Officials in the Prime Minister's Office would not provide details on the call, other than to say it took place on May 25 - the day Trudeau has said he initially proposed a face-to-face meeting with Trump to try to finalize a new North American Free Trade Agreement.

Trump is now cutting his trip to Quebec short to go to Singapore for his meeting with Kim. Insiders say that Trump is frustrated by UK PM Theresa May's leadership style, urging her to focus on policy and to stop worrying about offending people.

In two tweets Thursday evening, Trump accused the Canadian prime minister, as well as French President Emmanuel Macron, of "charging the USA massive tariffs" and creating "non-monetary barriers".

But strains emerged during Mr Macron's visit to Washington in April when Mr Trump brushed dandruff off his guest's shoulder. It returned to its original make-up after Russian Federation was expelled from the-then G8 over the annexation of Crimea in 2014.

"Because these six countries represent values, they represent an economic market which has the weight of history behind it and which is now a true global force", added Macron after he had his one-to-one with Trudeau earlier in the day.
