Japan has chose to halt evacuation drills to prepare for a potential North Korean missile attack as tensions had eased following a historic summit between the leaders of the United States and North Korea, Kyodo news agency reported on Thursday. At the time, however, the president did not name the site.

The site in question is the Sohae Satellite Launching Ground where North Korea has previously tested "liquid-propellant engines for its long-range ballistic missiles", according to a US official who spoke to Reuters.

Xi's tightening grip on power since coming to power in late 2012 - with a lack of organised opposition and the use of surveillance technology to keep tabs on the population - will likely help reassure Kim, Cabestan said. This would represent the bulk of the American remains North Korea has admitted to possessing.

The testing site in question is in Ch'olsan County, North Pyongan province, and is sometimes is referred to as the Sohae Satellite Launching Ground, according to an administration official. According to Seoul's Unification Ministry, more than 75,000 of the 132,000 South Koreans who have applied to attend a reunion have died. He added that, "it's the very front end of a process".

Negotiations between the U.S. and North Korean teams are continuing in an attempt to iron out the details of what was a vaguely worded agreement between the two leaders in Singapore.
