Space Force and Air Force will be 'separate but equal'

President Donald Trump on Monday relaunched his call for a Space Force and used a National Space Council meeting to direct the Pentagon ASAP to create a new command in the Defense Department.

Jerry Hendrix, a retired Navy captain and defense analyst, told The Washington Post that Trump cannot create a full-fledged, independent Space Force without a congressional act, but he could create an interim force that falls under the Air Force.

Trump is ordering the establishment of a sixth branch of the military to clear the way for American dominance of space.

The President also added that the U.S. will soon send humans to the Moon and also revealed that the Mars colonization plans are also going on steadily.

The commander-in-chief made the declaration at a meeting with members of the National Space Council, during which he personally asked Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford "to carry that assignment out". Trump has previously said that he included a Space Force as part of his national space strategy but also said in March that he not really serious about the idea.

"Last year the House passed a bill that would have created a space corps", says Todd Harrison, director of the Aerospace Security Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. In a letter last summer to Republican Rep. Mike Turner of OH, who spearheaded the congressional effort against a separate space force, Mattis said he was opposed to the idea.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Trump also established a new policy to declutter space garbage.

Toxic Giant hogweed plant, causing blindness and third-degree burns discovered in Virginia
Giant Hogweed is an invasive plant with some very nasty properties-at worst it can cause 3rd-degree burns and permanent blindness. The white flowers on top look a little bit like Queen Anne's Lace, and sit kind of like an umbrella over the rest of the plant.

However, the announcement isn't the first time the space force has been discussed.

"Just go ahead, if you beat us to Mars, we'll be very happy, and you'll be even more famous", he said.

Trump also declared that "there's no place like space". "That's a big step", said Trump during the speech.

"SPD-3 builds on our continued progress implementing SPD-1, which is galvanizing American space leadership by returning to the Moon with commercial and global partners, and SPD-2, which will create regulatory certainty for entrepreneurs to raise capital to grow the American economy in space".

The president then signed Space Directive 3, or SD-3, which directs the National Space Council to create space traffic management infrastructure. "We understand the President's guidance".

Trump also vowed to soon return the United States to the moon and to reach Mars. The plan, signed at the White House during the third National Space Council meeting, is meant to help companies rapidly access information about the location in space where they want to launch.

Making America great again wasn't good enough for Donald Trump.
