Denver Nuggets Sign Isaiah Thomas For Veteran Minimum

If that's going to happen, it will occur in Denver, as the Nuggets signed Thomas as an unrestricted free agent, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Prior to the injury, Thomas was eyeing a $100 million max contract extension.

Originally drafted with the final pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, Thomas has played in 473 NBA games for the Kings, Suns, Celtics, Cavaliers and Lakers. Thomas nearly exclusively came off the bench, scoring 15.6 points per game in 17 games with the Lakers.

He enjoyed a massive breakout the previous season with the Celtics, scoring 28.9 points per game and finishing fifth in MVP voting, helping Boston reach the Eastern Conference Finals.

Neymar, Mbappe or Hazard - Real Madrid pick Ronaldo replacement
Chelsea haven't offered up an asking price they want for Hazard. "Arthur is here for the moment and the rest is an internal job". Meanwhile, Real Madrid have a deal in place for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, it has been revealed.

But then Thomas was dealt to Cleveland as part of the Kyrie Irving trade.

Isaiah Thomas started from the bottom, being picked dead last in the 2011 National Basketball Association draft. Denver's head coach, Mike Malone, envisions using Thomas to build on leads established by the team's young core, headlined by Jamal Murray, Gary Harris and Nikola Jokic. He was an All-Star in both 2015-16 and 2016-17, averaging 25.5 points and 6.1 points in those seasons combined. Eventually, he'd end up getting traded to the Lakers. Thomas has been dealing with the lingering effects from right hip surgery he underwent in 2017, as well as a torn labrum.

After missing those the first 36 games of last season, Thomas returned to average 14.7 points and 4.5 assists in 15 games (14 starts).
