Elon Musk sending team of engineers to aid in Thai cave rescue

His updates came after U.S. and Thai officials confirmed Sunday that four boys had been rescued from a flooded cave network after spending 15 days trapped along with their soccer team and coach.

He has now designed a plan to help save the boys, and he said engineers from his companies would travel to Thailand on Saturday. However, the inventor and entrepreneur has also floated some other ideas.

Over the past couple days, Musk posited possible ways his companies could help in Thailand.

On Saturday, Musk tweeted that he was interested in designing "a tiny, kid-sized submarine" that would be "light enough to be carried by 2 divers, small enough to get through narrow gaps".

Elon Musk says he is "happy to help" with the rescue of the Thai soccer team stuck inside a cave.

As the boys are getting more and more exhausted due to drop in oxygen levels, and heavy rains being forecast for this weekend, authorities in the country fear that time is running out to save them, reported on Friday.

Among his tweets about the rescue, he also said: "But let's not submit to the bad mood entirely".

A spokesman for The Boring Company, which Musk founded in 2016 said: 'We are speaking with the Thai government to see how we can help, and we are sending SpaceX/Boring Company people from the USA to Thailand today to offer support on the ground.
