Here’s What Kawhi Leonard Told Spurs Teammates In Players-Only Meeting

Milan Lucic does not particularly care for the way that DeMar DeRozan responded to the trade that sent the former Raptors star to San Antonio in exchange for Kawhi Leonard.

After forcing the San Antonio Spurs' hand and making them trade him, Leonard might have to become a lot more vocal and show a different side to his personality if he's hoping to get a bigger deal from another shoe company.

It'll be interesting to see if Green can get the answers he wants before they embark on a new journey together in Toronto.

Reacting to a report from the "San Antonio Express-News, ' 'ESPN's" Michael C. Wright said Leonard could have avoided his rift with the Spurs had he spoken up about his issues during the 2016 All-Star Weekend. "[It says] slight strain, take a couple weeks off".

"I would feel it and they were like, my agent, 'Maybe you should get a second opinion.' I didn't want to, because I have full faith and believe in the Spurs staff", Green said.

I don't know if this is good or bad, but I think Twitter agrees. They've always done right by me.

Kawhi Leonard will skip the Team USA minicamp in Las Vegas next week.

Leonard skipping camp means there won't be a reunion of sorts anytime soon between he and head coach Gregg Popovich, who is leading the National Team.

Other All-Stars that will be sneaker free agents leading into the 2018-19 season include Philadelphia Sixers big man Joel Embiid, who is now with Adidas, as well as Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward and Golden State Warriors center, DeMarcus Cousins, both of whom now rep for Nike.

San Antonio's medical staff has received plenty of criticism in recent months regarding its handling of Leonard's injury situation, which eventually led to a fractured relationship between the player and team that ultimately resulted in the July 18 trade to Toronto.

Leonard played a major role in helping the franchise secure its fifth championship in 2014 and was named as the Finals MVP.
