Houston's Capela reportedly seeking $100M contract

Houston lost two of its top forwards so far this offseason, with Trevor Ariza agreeing to a one-year deal with the Phoenix Suns and Luc Mbah a Moute agreeing to a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. "Oklahoma City needs Anthony's permission to waive his no-trade clause, which he has done to facilitate his exit, league sources said".

Executives are reportedly working on a solution that could see the team freed of Anthony's costly expiring contract, looking to offload the deal to a rival that would likely see Anthony waived to enter free agency.

In an offseason that was expected to be very quiet for the Heat, signing Anthony would be a fairly welcome surprise. Then ESPN reported the deal was valued closer to $15 million, as Houston offered a four-year, $60 million contract. Swapping Melo for a player (s) of lesser value would also create a trade exception for OKC. The Miami Heat are also reportedly interested in adding Anthony.

The Rockets are hoping to land Carmelo Anthony. He worked his way from the G League up to Denver's roster in December and went on to average 4.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in 16.1 minutes per game in 39 appearances (five starts).

The 34-year-old is coming off his worst season in the National Basketball Association, as he posted career lows in scoring average and field goal percentage last season.
