Own goal? Japan coach says team hasnt practised penalties

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez said his side should accept they will be the underdogs in their World Cup quarter-final against star-studded Brazil on Friday.

"Anyway, I'll do my best". With the clock ticking toward extra time, Japan looked to score from a corner, but Belgium had other ideas, catching Japan off guard with a 10-second counterattack that culminated with Nacer Chadli's victor. We need to play together, give everything then see what happens.

"I do not know how to stop him".

Belgium and Japan have met once before at the World Cup finals when Japan were hosts in 2002.

In a news conference on Sunday ahead of Belgium's knockout round clash against Japan on Monday, Hazard welcomed suggestions that his time has come, with the two players who have dominated the Ballon d'Or award in recent years now out of the tourney.

"We asked visitors to watch the game calmly but everyone, myself included, couldn't help but jump and shout when Japan scored", the priest, Taiko Ishida, told AFP.

Hazard, 27, has so far, however, disappointed in major tournaments.

But her golden retriever Todd came to the rescue. "Just a thank you to all the support", Godwin later wrote on Facebook. Unfortunately, the snake bit the dog, right in the face! That's when Todd literally stepped up in Godwin's defense.

I already ran through his unbelievable global goalscoring record the last time we took the piss out of him, and he added another last night as Brazil overcame Mexico 2-0 on their way to the quarters.

"This is our third time in the last 16 and we have been very tactical in our approach", Nishino said. They became the first team to qualify for Round of 16 based on Fair Play.

After several poor showings leading up to the World Cup, and an 11th hour decision by bosses to sack coach Vahid Halilhodzic, many feared Japan would not even make it out of its group. They are also known to do the same in other competitions as well.

"Japan almost slayed the giant".

After their stunning comeback against Japan, Belgium will now face Brazil in the World Cup quarterfinals on June 6 in Kazan.

As the result sank in, people began to drift out of the bar, heading into the subway where early-bird commuters were already making their way in to the office. "I just want to thank my team-mates".
