Samsung's foldable Galaxy X smartphone could launch in early 2019

There aren't many changes from the Galaxy Note 8, but it wasn't exactly a bad-looking phone, either. The Galaxy Note 9 on its own isn't likely to make waves, but perhaps a rebranded smartwatch with fresh new features and interactivity with the Galaxy smartphone line will reinvigorate the fan base.

Rumours have swirled about a foldable Samsung phone for years, nicknamed the Galaxy X.

Samsung has long discussed the idea of releasing a folding phone, confirming to investors on a recent earnings call that the device was in the process of being developed.

The internet has been buzzing over the Galaxy Note 9 for months now, but Samsung's upcoming Unpacked event may have a few more hardware surprises in store. The two larger models will have this feature with the smaller one to have a sensor on the side of the device.

It's a great tool and can be genuinely useful at times, but for whatever reason, some users have been reporting that Facebook-developed apps aren't showing up here at all. This means that Samsung is not going all near bezel-less display as other smartphone players in the market. The only question would be whether or not Samsung's alleged in-display sensor will be better, more accurate, and faster than what's available in the market. Of course, take any and all alleged leaks with a grain of salt, but the Galaxy Note 9 will be revealed soon, for what it's worth.

Samsung may launch a foldable screen smartphone as early as next year, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
