Donald Trump Hits Back At LeBron James Over Racial Comments

Donald Trump Hits Back At LeBron James Over Racial Comments

This tweet comes just days after James opened his remarkable I Promise public school in Akron, Ohio, which was the whole reason for his sit down with Lemon.

When Lemon pressed James if he would consider running for president, he eventually said, "Let's see first". Lemon's chief offense was apparently making James look smart, which Trump said "wasn't easy to do".

During the interview, James also discussed a new school he has opened for underprivileged children in his home town in OH, which offers free meals and bikes to students, as well as job placement assistance for parents and an on-site food bank.

"Who's the real dummy?", the CNN anchor tweeted Saturday. "I like Mike!" the tweet read.

And Geraldo Rivera, the journalist and Trump confidant, broke with the president to say he wished Trump "turned other cheek re KingJames & donlemon While I disagree with their conclusion that POTUS is using sports to divide America along racial lines, they're both honest & intelligent men".

India v/s England, 1st Test - Follow Day 3 as it happens
India claimed the prize wicket of England captain Joe Root as the first Specsavers Test at Edgbaston remained on a knife edge. That is what we're here to do: "we are here to compete, we are here to fight and we are going to keep doing that".

He didn't say anything specific about Trump's tweet. The school is aimed at providing comprehensive services for at-risk youth, and James is providing $8 million in funding for it through his LeBron James Family Foundation. "Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!"

Back in September, after Trump said Steph Curry wouldn't be welcome at the White House, LeBron came to his rival's defense, reminding the president that the Golden State Warriors star "had already said he ain't going" and "therefore ain't no invite".

James has always been critical of Trump. Trump puts children in cages, ' his colleague Joseph Flynn wrote. "I don't want my future kids growing up in a world where two Black men, accomplished in their field, are called dumb because they disagree with your views". I know why. Some of y'all need to start believing what he is showing you.

This is presumably in retaliation to James' comments in a CNN interview with Don Lemon, during which he stated he would not sit across from Trump, but would sit across from former president Barack Obama. He also mentioned how the tweet appeared racist.

After Trump tweeted, athletes and others reacted.
