The Duchess of Sussex's father said he was "upset" by Harry's tirade, which came as he recovered in hospital from a heart attack.

"Meghan loves Thomas and does want to maintain a relationship with him in the long run", a source explains.

However, despite locking horns with Harry, 33, over the pictures, Thomas was expecting the couple to visit him in the USA after their honeymoon - particularly as he had just undergone extensive surgery on his heart - but his wish never came true.

Amid the family drama, Meghan, who just celebrated her 37th birthday, and Harry remain busy with engagements and enjoying some vacation time.

Over the weekend, Thomas "I Love the Press!"

"I told her they wouldn't be able to come because they would never be able to afford the flight but that it would be a nice gesture on her part. That it would end in tears", Thomas said of their conversations.

It was The Mail on Sunday that first claimed Thomas Markle had been participating in staged photo shoots to help his image, leading him to decide to withdraw from walking Meghan down the aisle at St. George's Chapel.

"Thomas claimed that after the incident, Harry called him and said, "'If you had listened to me this would never have happened'".

Despite his initial anger, however, he now acknowledges that Harry was "absolutely right" to be angry, but that it was Meghan's reaction that stung the most: She reportedly told him he was not allowed to give a speech at the royal wedding. "Following rumours that Meghan and Harry will start a family of their own in the near future, it makes sense that Ragland would want to be much nearer her daughter", Harper's Bazaar wrote.

Ragland is "said to be deeply impressed by the Royal Family" after participating in her daughter's wedding, and is "beside herself with excitement" over the prospect of living near Meghan and Harry in London. But as for the rest of it, f*** it.

Harry is on a private working visit to Botswana with his charity Rhino Conservation, Kensington Palace confirmed last week.
