Microsoft introduces Xbox All Access | Xbox One

Xbox Live gives users access to Microsoft's online multiplayer services, plus a selection of free games each month with Games with Gold.

There are subscription tiers for both the standard Xbox One S console, as well as the more powerful Xbox One X console - your choice.

Xbox All Access helps people finance Xbox One hardware, and it helps them pay less than they would if they separately bought the console and services.

Video game consoles are ridiculously expensive. The One X option saves about $140 off the full price.

Now that Xbox All Access has been pretty much confirmed, what do you think about it? Otherwise, you're committing to paying monthly for two years. What this adds up to is $132 in savings - more if you were to purchase Xbox Live month-to-month. It's also a boon for developers, as it has the potential bring an even larger player base for Xbox Game Pass. They also saw "increased purchasing and engaging with titles outside the Game Pass service". It's kind of like Netflix for gaming, except games are downloaded instead of streamed.

Microsoft has long said it's more focused on finding engaged customers rather than inflating its relative hardware sales numbers compared to the competition.

Microsoft has been experimenting with subscription bundles for years.

If you ever wanted an Xbox, but for some reason, you couldn't buy it - maybe the price was too high, or you were not sure if you'd stash it away in a corner with other stuff.

Nearly everyone is used to paying a monthly bill to have the latest mobile handset along with the data / calls package of choosing - but would you be willing to do the same to have the latest games console?

Xbox All Access name and details were leaked in a recent post from VentureBeat. It's similar to the way most mobile carriers sell phones now. "But as it turns out, that's not really what they're asking for".

The two offers are an Xbox One S starting at $21.99 per month, and an Xbox One X starting at $34.99 per month. Simple calculations show that in the framework of the contract for Xbox One X and a subscription to the services at the end of two years, the total would be 840 dollars.
