SpaceX launches Indonesian satellite and kicks off new round for rocket reusability

SpaceX launched Block 5 from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

The first stage of SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket after landing on the drone ship "Of Course I Still Love You" in the Atlantic Ocean.

Its primary goal is to launch a 5.8-ton satellite called Merah Putih meant to improve telecommunications in Indonesia, India, and much of Southeast Asia. The name refers to the red and while colors of Indonesia's flag. SpaceX is striving to lower launch costs through rocket recycling.

The first stage pulsed cold gas nitrogen thrusters to ready for its descent, while the Falcon 9's second stage - powered by a single Merlin engine - ignited for the first of two burns to send the Merah Putih satellite into an egg-shaped geostationary transfer orbit. SpaceX had to take it apart after it landed to make sure that it can be flown again without the need for maintenance in between flights in the future.

The 12,800-pound satellite, built by SSL, features 60 C-band transponders to provide mobile services across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Uncrewed tests of the full human-rated launch system still have to be completed, but each successful Block 5 launch gives NASA (and SpaceX) greater confidence. After it is hauled back to Cape Canaveral, it will be inspected and, if no major problems are found, it will go into the stockpile of available block 5 stages ready for use in downstream missions.

Cleveland Browns trade former Baylor WR Corey Coleman to Buffalo Bills
Coleman has 718 career receiving yards and five touchdowns over those two seasons. "There's nothing guaranteed here", Beane said. His first two seasons saw him limited to only 19 games as he suffered a broken hand in back-to-back years to start his career.

Oil prices rally on expectation that inventories will drop
US crude oil imports averaged 7.75 million barrels per day last week, maintaining the levels of the previous week. EDT (1437 GMT), while US crude CLc1 futures rose 60 cents to $68.26 a barrel.

Special counsel reportedly offers to limit in-person questions in Trump interview
USA intelligence agencies concluded a year ago that Moscow meddled in the 2016 campaign to try to tip the vote in Trump's favor. Senator Dianne Feinstein said Trump's tweets indicated to her that he's "very worried" about Mueller's investigation.

"The satellite is expected to have a service lifetime of 15 or more years", SpaceX said.

Elon Musk's SpaceX program plans to break another important barrier in private space flight Tuesday with the re-launch of a previously-used Block 5 booster just three months after its initial flight.

After a final lightning-fast series of computer checks, the 229-foot-tall rocket was released from pad 40 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, quickly accelerating skyward atop 1.7 million pounds of thrust.

"Ironically, we need to take it apart to confirm that it does not need to be taken apart", Musk said during a May 10 call with reporters.
