Trump calls former aide Omarosa a 'dog'

Omarosa and Donald Trump have quite a unique history - before taking up her role in the White House, the 44-year-old was also a contestant on Donald Trump's reality show, The Apprentice.

'I want to see this nation united as opposed to divided, ' she said.

Manigault Newman stormed off when she saw a lie detector test set up ahead of the show and assumed it was for her, Kimmel told the publication.

"I hope most employers would have considered it and thought about it, but unfortunately sometimes you need something as high profile as [the Omarosa story] to think 'wait, this might have implications for us in the workplace, ' " said Jason Gavejian, a principal in the privacy and data security group at the law firm Jackson Lewis.

In a related development, a Trump campaign official said the campaign, which is gearing up for his 2020 re-election run, had filed an arbitration against Manigault Newman for breaching a 2016 confidentiality agreement. "I had a blind spot where it came to Donald Trump".

Manigault Newman has been associated with Trump for more than a decade.

The White House has since defended President Trump after he called the former aide a "dog".

As the Washington Post's Josh Dawsey pointed out, though, while some claims in Omarosa's book can't be verified, recordings she's played "match quotations in the book". "Good work by General (John) Kelly for quickly firing that dog!", Trump wrote on Twitter, referring to his chief of staff.

In tweets Monday, Trump attacked his former aide as "vicious, but not smart" and claimed that "people in the White House hated her".

She once told PBS' Frontline: "Every critic, every detractor will have to bow down under President Trump".

In her book Omarosa said of Melania Trump: "It's my opinion that Melania was forced to go to the border that day in June, essentially, to mop up her husband's mess". His aides have also denied having discussed how to contain the damage if such a tape surfaced. "We had our fun here", he said after the predictable, adorable debacle, "but in regards to this Omarosa business, let's not forget that anyone who calls a black woman a dog is a racist with a rotted-out soul". Manigault Newman declared she "will not be silenced" by President Donald Trump, remaining defiant as her public feud with her former boss shifted from a war of words to a possible legal battle. Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., said during an interview on CNN.

Conway said that she has never heard Trump use a racial slur and that Manigault Newman never relayed concerns to her about hearing one.

Conway said she was disappointed with Manigault Newman, whom she had considered "a colleague and a friend". "And I do not see them throwing the full force of their support behind the president if something like that is revealed".
