U.S. urges United Kingdom to end support for Iran nuclear deal

Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi's visit to Iran has been canceled after he said he had no choice but to abide by USA sanctions against Tehran, even though he disagreed with their imposition.

"We don't support the sanctions because they are a strategic error, but we will comply with them", Abadi said.

"These irresponsible remarks have already been condemned by many people".

People of Iraq have reacted to their prime minister's anti-Iran remarks during which he had claimed that Iraq would follow up the U.S. in sanctioning Iran. The historic deal, backed by the US, Russia, and China, and negotiated by the European Union, saw the lifting of economic sanctions against Iran for ditching its nuclear program.

The Iraqi prime minister will then head to Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday to hold a series of meetings, French media reported.

"It's a disloyal attitude towards the honest position of Iran and the blood of the martyrs this country has spilled to defend the land of Iraq" against jihadists, said Moujtaba al-Hussein.

Woody Johnson, the USA ambassador to London, encouraged Britain to stick with the United States and ditch a "flawed" 2015 nuclear deal with Iran even as the European Union openly defied sanctions imposed by the Trump administration.

Britain's May might face a party leadership challenge later in the year, possibly from Boris Johnson, the former foreign minister who says she should be more like Trump.

The sanctions also concern Tehran's automobile and aviation sector, with tougher sanctions-especially an embargo on Iran's oil and banking sectors-to follow by November 4 should the Islamic Republic fail to accommodate President Trump's terms on "WORLD PEACE".

In April, Iranian leaders warned that, should the United States withdraw from the pact, the country would be prepared to produce enriched uranium beyond what was agreed upon.

In the article, Johnson said the Trump administration is "determined to make sure they [the sanctions] are fully enforced".
