Pete Carroll on a potential Earl Thomas trade

Pete Carroll on a potential Earl Thomas trade

The Dallas Cowboys' never-ending pursuit of safety Earl Thomas reached a new chapter in the proverbal novel.

Seattle Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas plans to report to team headquarters, ending his extended holdout.

Thomas has been one of Seattle's most consistent performers.

Earlier this month, writing for The Players' Tribune, Thomas said that he deserves to be paid accordingly as the only "Legion of Boom" mainstay still on the team.

As a result, Thomas will play out the final year of his contract with the Seahawks.

Thomas was adamant in receiving a contract extension or to be traded by the Seahawks, and if neither happened, he wouldn't report to the team.

The Cowboys visit Thomas and the Seahawks in Seattle in Week 3.

Colin Kaepernick billboards sits on top of Nike's San Francisco store
The NBA star, who was wearing one of his favored shrunken-fit shorts suits by designer Thom Browne, called his daughter "my rock". Some in Turlock say they will continue to support the athlete, his massager of racial injustice and the new Nike ad .

"With that being said, the disrespect has been well noted and will not be forgotten", Thomas wrote after indicating he wouldn't let his teammates down this weekend.

710 ESPN Seattle's Danny O'Neil has noted that while Thomas isn't wrong to seek a new extension, Seattle may be reticent due to a string of bad luck with similar deals.

NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport said Wednesday that Thomas will play out the final year of his deal in Seattle and that the Seahawks agreed to wipe out nearly all of his fines for not showing up to training camp. "Father Time may have an undefeated record but best believe I plan on taking him into triple overtime when it comes to my career". Sherman was released by Seattle in the off-season and signed with San Francisco. However, it's still not the second-rounder "and change" that the Seahawks want for the six-time Pro Bowler safety.

Seattle had been thought wanting at least a second-round pick all along with it thought Dallas had not offered more than a third.

Thomas' first voiced his displeasure with his contract situation at the Pro Bowl in January, telling ESPN he wouldn't feel comfortable hitting the field in September without a new long-term deal. Chancellor missed the first two games before reporting.

However, coach Pete Carroll made it abundantly clear the Seahawks don't intend to trade Thomas now that he's returned from his holdout.
