Drew Brees Becomes All-Time Passing Leader on 62-Yard TD Pass

The 39-year-old Brees eclipsed Peyton Manning's previous record of 71,940 yards with a 62-yard touchdown pass to rookie Tre'Quan Smith during Monday night's game against the Washington Redskins.

The 11-time Pro-Bowler didn't waste much time moving up the record books.

The game was paused in the second quarter after Brees completed a 62-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith to allow for recognition of the accomplishment, which came in the quarterback's 18th National Football League season. Brees will go down as one of the best quarterbacks EVER to play the game. "I've gotta tell ya, it's been the greatest 1,000 days of my life", Manning says in the video.

Congratulations on such a great career that is still going strong for Drew Brees. And thanks to you, that's over now.

After he converted the kick he said his main goal was seeking safety from the rest of his teammates running after him. Christian McCaffrey had 93 yards from scrimmage and an 18-yard touchdown catch for the Panthers (3-1).

India vs West Indies | Prithvi Shaw scores century in Test debut
India raced to 232-3 at tea, managing another 132 runs in the evening session's 38 overs with Kohli and Rahane batting cautiously. In the process, Shaw also became the second youngest Indian to score a maiden Test ton after the legendary Sachin Tendulkar .

A second-round pick by the Chargers in 2001 after setting records at Purdue, Brees spent five seasons in San Diego as his career got off to a somewhat slow start. Thanks to you, that's over now, and you've ruined that for me. While making his mark in SD, Brees suffered a potentially career-ending shoulder injury in 2005 that caused many teams to pass on him in free agency.

Manning, who was surpassed in the record books, joined forces with the Denver Broncos to acknowledge the feat with a amusing video.

Brees also was the final Saints player to run onto the field during pre-game introductions as fans belted out elongated howls of "Dreeeeeeew".
