Eventually, Rose will star in her own "Batwoman" series, set to hit the CW in the 2019-2020 TV season.

Rose will make her debut as the popular Gotham City hero in this year's three-night Arrowverse crossover "Elseworlds", which will include Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl.

A pilot for that series will be filmed after the "crossover event".

Batwoman is notably one of the few lesbian superheroes to hit the screen, with Rose herself an out lesbian actor. The costume was designed by award-winning designer Colleen Atwood who is responsible for several other major costumes in the Arrowverse. Decades later, she was rebooted as Kate Kane, an openly lesbian superhero.
