Harry and Meghan arrive in Sydney for first official Australian tour

Their first official royal tour as a couple will include visits to Sydney, Dubbo, Melbourne, Fraser Island and to other Commonwealth countries including Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.

Harry and Meghan's official duties start on Tuesday morning where the Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove will welcome them to Sydney at his residence, Admiralty House.

Prince Harry and Meghan were met by a large media and security presence at the airport on Monday.

They emerged from the terminal about 7:30am and made their way to a fleet of vehicles, surrounded by officials and minders.

Harry and Meghan's sojourn in the southern hemisphere will be more brief but will see the couple retracing parts of the path once trod by his father and mother.

The couple were accompanied by the then baby William for the visit, which saw the trio visit Alice Springs, Uluru/Ayers' Rock, and Sydney.

Just weeks ago the palace revealed the royal couple's full itinerary, setting out every detail of their visits to New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, before they go on a visit to Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.

It's also being reported that Meghan has invited her best friend, Toronto-based stylist Jessica Mulroney and her husband Ben, to join them and help her with her wardrobe in an "unofficial" capacity. Prince Harry will also climb the Harbour Bridge to raise the Invictus Flag before they attend the opening ceremony for the games on Saturday.
