Mega Millions grows to $548M making it third-largest jackpot in history

The Powerball drawing, set for Saturday at 10:59 p.m., has a jackpot of $314 million.

Today's drawing for the Mega Millions jackpot is estimated to be over half a billion dollars and will be the third-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.

Powerball tickets selling at the same price will only be available until 9:50 p.m. tomorrow.

Those winning tickets were sold in California, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

"It's a chance. You can't win unless you play", said Jamiu Kolawole after he received his free ticket. Players who buy $2 tickets face extremely long odds, with a one in 302.5 million chance of matching all six numbers.

The top Mega Millions jackpots of all time are $656 million in 2012 and $648 million a year later.

The winning numbers for Saturday night were 11, 14, 32, 43 and 65, with a Powerball number of 15, according to the official Powerball website.

The cash option for Friday's jackpot would be a lump-sum amount estimated at $309 million before federal taxes.
