We are fine, says Melania Trump as she dismisses gossip about marriage

Asked if she loves President Donald Trump, she said: "Yes, we are fine".

Melania Trump, in a sit-down interview with the ABC News, while in Kenya during her tour of Africa, was asked about her views on the #MeToo movement even as her husband, US President Donald Trump, and the newly-sworn in Supreme Court judge, Brett Kavanaugh, have been plagued by allegations of sexual misconduct.

"I am a mother and first lady", she was quoted as saying during the interview, "and I have much more important things to think about and to do".

'I know people like to speculate and media like to speculate about our marriage'.

"Yeah, it's not always pleasant, of course", she said.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders took aim at ABC gabfest "The View" on Friday after guest host Yvette Nicole Brown suggested that Melania Trump may have once been one of her husband's "mistresses".

Mrs Trump also slapped down her husband's lawyer Rudy Giuliani when asked about a statement from him claiming she "believes her husband" when he denied a one night-stand with porn star Stormy Daniels.

Asked why Giuliani would say that, she said: "I don't know". She says allegations of her husband's infidelities are not a "concern and focus".

In the case of Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, she alleges that she had sex with Mr Trump in his room at Lake Tahoe, a resort area between California and Nevada, in 2006, and had an "ongoing" relationship after this encounter. "It's not always correct stuff". Daniels however subsequently sat down with CBS in a 60 Minutes interview in March of this year to share the details of her alleged affair with Trump.

But Melania Trump insisted she doesn't dwell on it.

She scoffed at such talk in the ABC interview.

Like past first ladies, Melania also faces criticism of her fashion choices, which lean toward well-cut, refined but not flashy clothes from Ralph Lauren and French-American designer Herve Pierre.

In the interview, she also commented on politics, saying there are still people working for her husband's administration whom he can not trust. Asked why he made that claim, she added: "I don't know".
