According to reports, his death was confirmed by his daughter.

"We're told an ambulance rushed to Lee's Hollywood Hills home early Monday morning and he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center". Before he departed from this mortal coil, Lee still had it in him to film a few more cameos, with the Russo brothers confirming that Lee would still pop up in Avengers 4.

Thomas who is Lee's protege and also a comic book writer is reported by his manager, John Cimino to have talked for about 30 minutes with Lee and surprisingly they discussed comics and superheroes during the visit.

Lee wanted the storyline to explore the man finding a new connection with his heritage, and contrast it against his life in the city, Gillis said.

Lee is one of many notable alumni from DeWitt Clinton High School, including comic book pioneer Will Eisner and Batman co-creator Bob Kane, who both attended DeWitt Clinton a few years before Lee. He had suffered major medical ailments over the a year ago. Without Stan Lee, Marvel would not be where it is today. Here are just a few of the cameos from the Marvel icon in non-Marvel productions.

Lee began his career in the comic book business in 1939, before revolutionising the industry by creating The Fantastic Four with Jack Kirby in 1961. Lee would simply hand them a brief synopsis of the story, and the artists would be the ones in charge of filling in other elements on top of illustrating the comic.
