California farm linked to E. coli outbreak recalls cauliflower, lettuce

The Canadian recall was triggered by a US recall which came after multiple cases of food poisoning and E. coli contamination from certain lettuce products. The affected products include cauliflower with the Adam Brothers Family Farms logo, as well as green and red leaf lettuces that were sold in bulk without packaging.

"The recall was initiated after it was discovered that sediment from a reservoir near where the produce was grown tested positive for E. coli", the release said.

That said, there have been no cases reported yet of actual illness associated to the consumption of these products, yet. Farming Inc. has notified its affected customers of all product that was recalled, asking that the product not be eaten, sold, or transferred. Farming Inc. of Santa Maria California have been recalled. The cauliflower was distributed in 10 states: Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The filtered, treated water has tested negative for the bacteria.

Red and green leaf lettuce was distributed to wholesalers in California, Colorado, Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Canada.
