Fans exalt Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray with artworks

Angela Ponce is set to make history when she takes part in the Miss Universe finals in Bangkok, Thailand on Dec 17.

Philippines' Catriona Gray, who was crowned this year's Miss Universe, has been vocal about her support for Ponce amid the controversy over transgender inclusion in the pageant.

Miss Universe beauty pageant in 2012 announced that they allowed transgender participants after Canadian transgender model Jenna Talackova sued the Miss Universe Canada organization and was declared victorious.

She also described what it felt like to be on the receiving end of so much online hatred.

During the coronation night, Gray was asked what title would she give to a song she would write for her fellow Filipinos, and she said: "Raise Your Flag". And she has a goal.

Miss Spain even caught the attention of America's favorite trans woman, Laverne Cox, who tweeted her praise. "She is that voice for the transgender community".
