Note: To compile the lists, Google analyses searches using algorithms that filter our repeat searches and compare percentage increase in searches for specific terms over the last 12 months. The top people searched for were Meghan Markle, Demi Lovato, Sylvester Stallone, Logan Paul, and Khloe Kardashian.

The second most searched "how to" was "how to link Aadhar with mobile number" followed by "how to make rangoli", "how to port mobile number", and "how to invest in bitcoin". In the top 10 overall list, sporting events and entertainment were the top topics that dominated search queries.

The Duchess of Sussex, Khloe Kardashian and GDPR were among the most searched topics in the United Kingdom this year, according to Google's Year In Search project.

Anthony Bourdain, Kate Spade and Mac Miller claimed the fourth, fifth and sixth top search spots respectively.
