First footage: ‘Game of Thrones’ finale hints at major alliances

Amid the frenzy of Golden Globes 2019, HBO made a decision to drop the first look of the final season of Game of Thrones.

This is the second footage that the show has released of Season 8.

New Game of Thrones footage alert!

In the few seconds that HBO shows the first look from the series' season finale, the audience gets to see Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen share screen space for the first time in the history of GoT. We'll go with "Dany" for short.

Sansa's tone and expression in the new clip suggest that she's reluctantly handing Winterfell to Daenerys, and Brienne's expression behind her mirrors that sentiment.

Huawei's tweet publicly displayed " Twitter from iPhone" below the message thanks to this recent Twitter change. The team eventually deleted the tweet and sent a new one from a masked Twitter client almost four hours later.

In the brief footage, Daenerys is seen being introduced to Sansa, who now holds the fort at Winterfell, by Jon after their arrival from Dragonstone. I need it. Sansa calls her "your Grace"!

The brief, but jam-packed, trailer caught many fan's attention by offering the first piece of spoiler content for the eighth and final season of its smash fantasy hit "Game of Thrones". Similar to the show's first episode which saw King Robert Baratheon arriving at Winterfell.

Given that it's a compilation trailer featuring footage from all sorts of other shows, including the new seasons of BIG LITTLE LIES and VEEP, there wasn't a ton of detail given in the clip.

The season is going to get ugly, and the breakdown of alliances, including families, is a real possibility. It's not an earth-shattering reveal, but it still shows off a meeting that's been awaited for years.
