Wisconsin teen Jayme Closs reunites with aunt after rescue

Their bodies were found October 15 after a mysterious 911 call led deputies to their home in Barron, Wisconsin.

Sheriff Fitzgerald says Jayme was being held against her will in a home in the Douglas County community of Gordon, about an hour north of Barron.

"One of the things that helped me recover so quickly is that nobody forced me to talk about what happened", said Beers, 36, who is married and has two children. He says Jayme told Federal Bureau of Investigation agents that she didn't know Patterson at all.

"At this time, nothing in this case shows the suspect knew anyone at the Closs home or at any time had contact with anyone in the Closs family", Fitzgerald said.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald speaks during a news conference in Barron, Wis., on January 11, 2018.

Patterson's lawyers Charles Glynn and Richard Jones said in a statement they consider the situation "very tragic" and that they are relying on the court system to treat their client fairly.

Investigators are trying to determine how Jayme escaped from Patterson's home, Fitzgerald said.

Investigators say 21-year-old Jake Thomas Patterson shot James and Denise Closs to death in their home near Barron on October 15 and took their daughter, 13-year old Jayme Closs. Englehardt couldn't stay standing when she learned Jayme was finally found. Their bodies were discovered on Oct 15. When the dispatcher called back, a voicemail greeting indicated the phone belonged to Denise Closs.

A picture circulated around social media of Closs smiling next to her aunt Jennifer Smith.

The search and tips had not yielded any clues before Jayme reappeared.

"There's always hope for Rosie, I never give up", John Daniel said Friday.

Jayme was found on Thursday in the small town of Gordon, some 70 miles (112km) from her home in Barron.

United were deeper in the second half, but to play against that system it was incredible to create 11 chances in the second half. That may be the case, yet his commanding aura surely had something to do with the Spurs attackers failing to find the mark.

Higuain poised to complete Chelsea move
Higuain had his most successful season under Sarri, breaking the Serie A goalscoring record with 36 goals in the 2015/16 campaign. Sarri has not lost his desire to sign Higuain and it is claimed the Argentine has given the green light to the move.

Jayme told one of the people in Gordon who took her in that she had walked away from a cabin where she had been held captive.

The discovery Thursday of Jayme "does provide hope for those who are still looking", said Alison Feigh, director of the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center. Even during the 88 days of captivity of Jayme - we still don't think that anybody assisted him in that.

Nutter took Jayme to the closest house, the home of Kristin and Peter Kasinkas, and they called 911. "We know he lived in that house alone", he said.

"We want her to feel comfortable and then after a while, she probably won't want the attention so it'll probably come down but it'll be up for a while because we're thrilled", Seelig said.

Fitzgerald said it's not clear whether Patterson, who is unemployed, owns the home, or how he kept Jayme there. Authorities did not offer any details about the conditions of her captivity or how she had managed to escape.

Fitzgerald said officials did not yet know how she escaped, saying only that she had been released from the hospital and was being reunited with family.

Straub also said Jayme's case brings up the issue of victim privacy.

Authorities on Friday announced they had arrested Jake Patterson, 21, of Gordon, Wisconsin, in connection with the killings of Jayme's parents', James and Denise Closs, and with her kidnapping.

Jayme's aunt, Sue Allard, told the Star Tribune: "It's the news we've been waiting on for three months".

Elizabeth Smart, who was held captive for nine months as a teenager after her 2002 abduction in Utah, posted a photo of Closs on Instagram, praising the "miracle" that she had been found. They say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the case.

However, neighbors noted they rarely saw Patterson and hadn't seen Jayme around.
