As Arctic Chill Hits US, Trump Again Casts Doubt on Climate Change

In 2017, Trump moved to withdraw the US from the Paris climate treaty, an agreement among United Nations members to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. But as the Midwest endured a brutal cold snap, things were heating up in other parts of the world.

- Can this type of extreme weather be blamed on climate change? "The NCA explains the growing scientific evidence that even as the world warms, we will still see extended regional cold spells 'associated with persistent, slow-moving high pressure systems that obstruct the prevailing westerly winds in the middle and high latitudes and the normal eastward progress" of major storm systems.

The NOAA was one of many critics of the President's misinformed statement, tweeting a delightful illustration and a link to one of the agency's 2015 articles explaining how "Winter storms don't prove that global warming isn't happening". "And if you get a real big one you can have a big blob of cold air penetrate very far south", Kirtman told AFP.

"Climate change makes extreme weather more frequent and more intense", tweeted Mr. Bloomberg.

"Weather is what's in your wallet today and climate is your whole financial portfolio", says Blumenfeld. The climate can be thought of, in a way, as the sum of long periods of weather.

The president has also gone back and forth several times between supporting certain legislation that helps combat climate change, to calling climate change an "expensive Chinese hoax" that doesn't exist.

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson to Interview Roger Stone
Stone has remained in Trump's orbit ever since, by turns serving as a lobbyist, business consultant, and political confidante. The campaign said it fired him after he tried to grab too much of the spotlight while Stone insisted that he quit.

Van Dijk Fit, Fabinho at Right-back: Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Leicester
We've all seen that picture of Harry Maguire speaking to his other half after the World Cup quarter final win over Sweden. We all know that every game is important, there are 38 games in the Premier League and 38 games are all important.

Cory Booker Campaigning in Iowa Next Week
Booker is expected to head to Iowa Feb. 8 and 9, to SC on Feb. 10 and 11, and then to New Hampshire over President's Day weekend. Later mocked by Republicans for grandstanding, the senator exposed himself to punishment by releasing confidential documents.

"Greetings, The rest of the world", he replied, followed by a map showing current world temperatures.

Inevitably, when the weather turns brutally cold, someone will ask, "What happened to global warming?"

So, how can it be so cold as the planet heats up?

He posted a few more similar tweets following his November 21 post above, with similar messages: "In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year's Eve on record".

The Earth's temperature has changed drastically in its 4.5 billion-year history, from the Huronian Ice Age that covered vast portions of the planet in ice for almost 300 million years, to a period about 50 million years ago, when scientists believe that palm trees and crocodiles were native above the Arctic Circle. "If that's the case since he doesn't seem to understand climate change, we invited a couple of children who do to break it down for him".

In the same interview, Trump recalled that in the past, scientists warned about global freezing instead of global warming.
