Lakers 'Increasingly Pessimistic' Pelicans Willing To Trade Anthony Davis

Davis, a 25-year-old forward who helped the United States capture 2012 London Olympic gold is the most prized player up for grabs as Thursday's National Basketball Association trade deadline approaches.

However, it has now been reported that Lakers have pulled out of a deal in a stunning turnaround. The team appears to know it won't be able to re-sign superstar big man Anthony Davis, so it's really a matter of when the team receives the right offer to trade him. As the Lakers elevate their offer, including more top young players and even more draft picks into the offer, they'll keep closing the gap.

The latest reports of the talks between the Lakers and Pelicans on Tuesday were that Los Angeles was unwilling to continue sending trade offers to New Orleans, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. New Orleans has a lot to gain from waiting to trade Davis. Those two teams have yet to make offers for Davis and likely don't have the assets to make a deal happen, league sources said. Irving, 26, previously said he planned to re-sign with the Celtics in the summer but has recently wavered in public on that promise.

As ESPN first reported, the Celtics are unwavering in their pursuit of Davis - despite the fact they can not acquire Davis until the summer.

The Celtics could have access to four first-round picks in the June draft. Giving in to the Pelicans' demands for between six and eight draft picks would have been lunacy.

'Maybe it's my fault': Sarri fumes after Chelsea meltdown
On the pitch I am really very happy with him. "He can improve a great deal", said Sarri. Maurizio Sarri's side were woeful against an impressive Bournemouth set-up.

John, star of 'Young & the Restless,' dead at 52
John had recently checked himself into the UCLA Medical Center for depression and was just released a few days before his death. His 24-year-old son, Julian , died of a reported suicide at a mental health facility in 2014.

WARNING as Brits told ‘go home NOW’ before snow
The Met Office says: "A band of rain will arrive from the south west, quickly turning to snow and becoming heavy at times". But it is far from the lowest United Kingdom temperature recorded there in January 1982, when it reached -27.7C (-17.86F).

Too bad. Unlike ripping off a band-aid, this decision will shape the future of the New Orleans Pelicans franchise for the next decade.

The Davis camp spewing how much they don't want to play in Boston isn't ideal, but it won't deter Ainge from making a "Godfather" offer of his own this summer. Does Davis think the Pelicans should accept L.A.'s proposal?

A total of four picks - who can offer that? The Lakers actually putting that offer on the table, or the Pelicans rejecting it?

Davis has two years left on his contract, although he does hold a player option for the 2020-21 season.

Deveney writes that the Blazers have shown interest in New Orleans Pelicans forward Nikola Mirotic, Orlando Magic guard Evan Fournier, Atlanta Hawks guard Jeremy Lin, and Memphis Grizzlies forward JaMychal Green. Davis will garner a super-max contract upward of $240 million whenever he lands.
