Trail Blazers Acquire Rodney Hood

With the 11-42 Cavaliers now in complete rebuilding mode and Hood's looming free agency after the season, his tenure with the team was limited and his new destination was determined when the trade was announced.

Hood had to agree to the trade because his signing of a one-year, $3.4 million qualifying offer last summer with Cleveland granted him veto rights.

Former Cavaliers swingman Rodney Hood is expected to be a key contributor for the Blazers. In 45 games this season, Hood is averaging 12.2 points on.427 shooting, 2.0 assists and 2.7 boards over 27.4 minutes a night. The 26-year-old waived his no-trade clause to join the Blazers, who are 32-20 and have the fourth best record in the Western Conference. However, the 6-foot-8 forward never fully fit in with the Cavs, and after starting Cleveland's first playoff game, he was pulled from the rotation by then-coach Tyronn Lue.
