Warnings revised as Storm Erik batters parts of UK

Met Éireann has officially named Storm Erik in their latest forecast while they have also upgraded a weather warning to orange for three counties.

An Orange wind warning is now valid for Galway, Mayo and Donegal with the forecaster warning of "damaging" gusts.

Two yellow weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office, for both wind and rain, and suggest strong winds will be felt in most places.

"Very high seas as well with some coastal flooding".

The most danger from the elements is on the coast, as winds are approaching and in some cases are expected to exceed hurricane level (more than 50mph).

Terrifying footage emerged as British Airways flight BA276, travelling from India, tried to battle with Storm Erik on a landing.
